GLP (formerly Gazeley) as developer and owner of Magna Park, in response to the on-going expansion of Magna Park has committed to establish a new Community Fund initiative to support community and voluntary organisations to deliver local projects within the geographical area surrounding Magna Park.
The fund forms an important part of our corporate social responsibility and is entirely on a voluntary basis.
Lutterworth Area Community Projects Limited (LACPL) has been set up to administer and manage the distribution of financial contributions on behalf of the local Community.
LACPL will replace the existing Magna Park Community Fund (MPCF) which was established in 2014 and administered by GLP for the benefit of the Lutterworth area. Since 2014 the MPCF has contributed over £150,000 to local organisations and charities, across more than 60 different projects.
LACPL will formally launch on 1st November 2020 and remain active for 5 years.
Directors drawn from the local community will formally convene to consider all grant applications received on a quarterly basis. Information on the Directors involved can be found below.
Successful applications will be referred to GLP Charity Committee for final approval and to ensure they comply with GLP’s Corporate Compliance Policies.
GLP has committed to making an initial contribution available to support local projects. Further funds will be made available following the occupation of any newly built warehouse at Magna Park over the next 5 years.
The maximum amount of funding available per project is £175,000. The minimum amount is £2,500.
Anyone can apply but all applicants will be subject to compliance and verification checks. The maximum amount that can be awarded to individuals or informal groups is capped at £5,000.
The fund aims to support a wide range of projects and organisations. Including education, commercial, well-being and health, sport and recreation, environment, community connectedness and youth activity.
Projects must be within close proximity of Magna Park and fall within the administrative Parish boundaries of:
Ashby Parva; Bittewsell & Bittesby; Claybrooke Parva & Magna; Cotesbach; Lutterworth Town and associated parishes; Misterton & Walcote; Monks Kirby; Pailton; Ullesthorpe; Wibtoft and Willey.
