Unlocking Value from Surplus Stock

British Heart Foundation (BHF) is keen to connect with businesses across the logistics and warehousing sector to explore opportunities where surplus stock can create both commercial and social value.

As a member of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA), BHF works collaboratively with organisations across a wide range of sectors to identify responsible, brand-safe and scalable routes for quality surplus stock. Supported by our national network of shops and stores, alongside our market-leading online resale platform, we can support opportunities across a broad range of product categories, volumes and requirements.

We understand that no two stock opportunities are the same. Surplus stock can arise for many different reasons, from excess inventory and end-of-line ranges through to cancelled orders, product changes, samples, packaging updates, slightly defect stock, one-off projects or opportunities identified through wider customer networks. Whatever the circumstance, our approach is centred on understanding the individual requirement and working collaboratively to identify the most appropriate solution.

For businesses operating across logistics, warehousing and supply chain environments, these opportunities may sit within your own operation, your customer base, or your wider network. As many third-party logistics providers work closely with retailers, manufacturers and brand owners, they are often well placed to identify surplus stock opportunities that may benefit from a responsible and commercially viable redistribution route.

BHF is keen to build relationships across the sector and explore where we can support, whether that is through a one-off opportunity or a longer-term partnership. We welcome conversations with both logistics providers and the businesses they support. Every partnership helps fund British Heart Foundation’s lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases, turning quality surplus stock into funding that helps save and improve lives. Alongside this, businesses can support responsible stock management, positive environmental outcomes and meaningful social impact.

If you are aware of an opportunity within your own business, customer network or wider supply chain, we’d welcome the chance to start a conversation and explore how BHF could support.
